On the 11th of October I will be running a half marathon for JDRF, the Juvenile DIabetes Research Foundation. It’s a cause close to my heart as a close family member (my little sister) has Type 1 Diabetes. That means that she is insulin dependant, and needs insulin delivered to her via pump. Many people with Type 1 diabetes need to inject insulin up to five times a day. Diabetes is an auto-immune condition, often diagnosed in childhood. JDRF are doing some great work in finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
More information on Type 1 Diabetes can be found here.
Remember, I’ll be sweating my way through 13.1 miles. I would say I must be nuts, but this is the best cause I can think of raising money for, and this is the best way to do it!
